I am an artist hailing from the beautiful Pacific Northwest, My work has been exhibited across Idaho, Washington, Oregon, and California, reflecting the rich tapestry of life and color that this region offers.

I’m now retired (in the loosest sense of the word) and able to indulge my artistic roots by pursuing the fine arts, with an initial focus on fine art photography. I especially love panoramic photographs, which intrigue me. But, I’ve also returned to working in pencil, creating drawings to incorporate on the matting of my photographs.

I have been fascinated with wood since the age 8 when my uncle gave me a box of thin wood scraps and a coping saw. In high school and college, I worked at a sawmill. After getting a degree in wood tech, I was a manufacturing engineer in the cabinet industry. Almost 20 years ago, I traded computerized machinery for a table saw and began my own woodworking business.

Steve and Ann are glass artisans with a life-long love for the magic and beauty of stained glass. They have been creating originally designed stained glass windows, mirrors, sun catchers and lightweight glass/gold jewelry for many years.

I work with plants and plant dyes on natural fibers to make beautiful, useful things. I’m fascinated with the colors achieved from many humble weeds that we see every day. The plants have rather magical properties, I use special techniques to make them to give up their secrets to imprint my fabric. I’ve always been a bit obsessed with the passage of time. That makes this Art form perfect…for me. The time of year and the stage of growth of a plant, can affect the color that it offers to the process of my Fabric Art. The magic itself cannot be rushed—-open the Fabric-Plant bundle too soon and it will be ruined forever! This work teaches me mindfulness, presence and patience.

I strongly believe that immersion in art, should begin in the earliest years of life. Further believing that everyone has artistic ability, if only they could embrace it. Expressing oneself creatively is a most effective human therapy. I began my art education later in life when I volunteered as a docent at my children’s elementary school. I’ve enjoyed many creative activities throughout my life, but my interest was piqued when I learned of the “Art Docent Program”.

I am primarily a self-taught artist. For many years I’ve had a passion for all things fiber, textiles, and metals featuring rich color to create my art.

I offer my clientele “one of a kind” wearable art, such as handmade felt items, jewelry accessories, eco-dyeing, and encaustic wall hangings. I expect transformation in my designs as imagination and curiosity comes to life and evolves in my studio.

For me, inspiration comes from light, color and texture. It could be a flower I found along the way or a landscape that makes me think ‘what if.’ I enjoy making art that is fun and beautiful as well as paintings that, I hope, speak their truth a bit more.

My entire body of work is composed of wheel-thrown and hand-built stoneware and porcelain both functional and non-functional. All forms are vessel inspired and are either high-fired in a reducing atmosphere or are fired using raku and/or raku inspired techniques.

As a fused glass artist, Julie crafts custom jewelry, trinkets, and other pieces of art that reflect her passion for color. Each glass creation is a unique expression of her artistic vision, merging form and function with style and originality.

As an artist, I enjoy getting lost in the details of whatever I’m creating. While not a ‘hyper-realist,’ I prefer to work in a tight, realistic style using colored pencils, pastels, graphite and charcoal. My pieces may take many hours (or days, or weeks) to complete, but I find the process to be quite meditative. And the end result, in my mind, is worth the time and effort.

David Hoyt is an artist, illustrator, and graphic designer. He welcomes and enjoys the technical challenge of capturing details accurately while embracing his ability to add his own artistic interpretation. In David’s work you will find that precision meets style.

Art brings new experiences and inspiration into my life. As an artist I love photography, sketching, watercolors, acrylics, but currently I work mainly with sheet glass creating designs in stained glass using both lead came and/or copper foil methods of construction. I hope my end creation brings light, color, and moments of reflection into the lives of those who view my art glass in pieces.

Basket making is weaving together materials and time. There are not many things I enjoy more than going into my studio, turning up the music and getting into the rhythm of the weave as a basket takes form.

I have always loved color and being outdoors! Art classes in school led me to college at Ball State University in my home state of Indiana. I started out in interior design then switched majors and graduated with a degree in Art Education for K-12th grade. My personal canvases have been my gardens and my home. Hand building pottery is Jodee Moody’s passion because the technique allows her to create a variety of different art forms. Texture and nature have had a major influence in her pottery. She loves to make bird baths and bird houses and garden art. Yes, she makes the regular functional mugs, bowls, platters and vases but with texture, crystal glazes, stains and a variety of lead-free cone 6 glazes.

I have worked in many different mediums, but working with ceramics feels very natural. I love the meditative nature of throwing on the wheel and the ability to design the function and experience of everyday objects. I have been interested in ceramics from a young age. I attended a pottery camp as a child and loved everything about it. After returning to pottery as an adult I was hooked again. I have always enjoyed taking apart objects and reconstructing them, but now I am able to study the object and make a mug, vase, or plate from scratch.

All of my pottery is wheel thrown, hand painted and functional ware. All of my paintings are inspired by the things that I love and experience in life. I’m happy to take special requests such as custom mugs based on photos of your pet and much more.

For me, pottery is about discovering and creating, trying different techniques, glazes, firings.  Finding what works and what doesn't.  Accepting challenges, solving problems and growing from them.  It's about the encouragement and inspiration I gain from my fellow artists and from you who "adopt" my pots.  My hope is that you will give them a good homes and that they will be used and loved and bring enrichment to your life, as they have to mine as I have invested my time and energy in them.  If you look closely, you will find my fingerprints on every piece--promise! 

I am a fiber artist. I make baskets and dolls, and my latest addiction is making hand-bound journals. I create items that are practical for everyday use. Some of my dolls are whimsical and require a sense off humor. My goal is to create items that speak to people.

I have been passionate about clay since my first pottery class 45 years ago, and have explored ceramic art as a hobby most of my life.  In 2018 I returned to Spokane from the Peace Corps, retired and ready to pour myself into my creative passion.  I have been passionate about clay since my first pottery class 45 years ago, and have explored ceramic art as a hobby most of my life. 

Inspired by the majesty of the Western United States, I focus on concise design, quality of form, and subtle, earthy finishes to create pottery that captures the inspiration, serenity and sincerity of nature.

I am Mia Simonsen and I started Owl Song Feltery in 2024. Owl Song Feltery creates botanicals out of needle felted wool. Growing up in North Idaho gave me plenty of chances to fall in love with the outdoors, a passion that continues to influence my art today. I love picking the shape and colors of a new project and finding just the right vintage container to showcase the finished sculpture. I also value the joy and whimsy “feltanicals” bring to this world. Yes, that’s a word I made up to describe my art! These realistic sculptures bring delight in a way unique to Owl Song Feltery.

I love the feel of the clay when I am throwing on the potter’s wheel.  I enjoy dividing the pot into sections to decorate with carved or stamped patterns.  The variables in the glazing and firing processes have made me more accepting and open to chance.  I describe my pottery as elegantly functional.  I start with a classic shape and then add decorations based on the beauty I see in nature.

Steve Whitford turned his first lamp in 8th grade shop class. It wasn’t until years later when he was gifted a lathe for fathers day, that he picked it up again. Unfortunately, that lathe wasn’t the easiest to use so he put it up on the wall and forgot about it. Then one day, his wife needed something that required lathe work. He went to a friends house and used his lathe and fell back in love with the craft. He’s been turning wood into art since then.

My artistic vision is expressed through the use of mixed metals; silver & copper. The creative journey begins with raw materials. I saw, stamp, solder and stone set all my pieces by hand. I LOVE working with fire!
