Judy Klier

For this show Judy has created a series of portraits that is called Women in the Window, that celebrates and encourages the extraordinary strength, wisdom, and potential that women possess.

Women in the Window

Women bring immeasurable value to every part of society through their strength, compassion, intelligence, and resilience. They are leaders, innovators, caregivers, entrepreneurs, mentors, and changemakers who help build stronger families, businesses, and communities. Their unique perspectives inspire progress, foster meaningful connections, and create opportunities for future generations.

Yet, I believe many women don't fully recognize their own power. Too often, we accept limitations placed on us by others, and over time, those limitations become the ones we place on ourselves. The truth is, our greatest barriers are often the ones we choose to believe.

It is up to each of us to empower ourselves, set meaningful goals, create a plan, and have the courage to follow our hearts. As women, we possess extraordinary strength, wisdom, and potential. When we believe in ourselves and embrace our unique gifts, there is no limit to what we can achieve.

Artist Statement

In my youth, painting was a cherished passion, but the responsibilities of raising a family and managing a household caused it to fade into the background. Despite this, I found solace in small creative moments with my children and a brief exploration of glass carving. Eventually, I rediscovered my love for painting. Creating art allows me to unwind, immerse myself in the beauty of the world, and find peace in the midst of life's hustle. It's a retreat where time slows down, stress melts away, and I find true joy—it's my "Happy Place."

Marcia McDonald

Marcia’s paintings are inspired by Nature.  She explores the play of light and dark, warm colors against cool, intense next to muted, and hard edges relating to soft edges; all effects that express the beauty of the scene and cause the eye to move around the painting.

Artist Statement

When I paint a landscape, my inspiration is not the scene, but rather the composition of the light and dark in the shapes, more of a design or pattern, than a painting of the actual scene. I try to stay away from worrying about getting the colors just right or making sure the depth of field is correct.

When painting an abstract, it is more about the colors and the way they can move the eye around the painting. How they interact with each other, warm against cool, intense next to muted or sharp edges relating to soft edges. With an abstract painting I try to solicit an emotion using color.

My inspiration is always nature,

it provides perfect design, if I pay attention.
