Melanie Lieb is a visual artist working in multiple medias which include painting, jewelry, sculpture, ceramic and installation. Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois…Melanie studied at “The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design” and then transferred to “The School of the Art institute of Chicago” where she focused on painting and drawing. Melanie has been involved in many group and solo exhibitions with her fine art and jewelry over the years in several states including Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Hawaii, and New Mexico and now in Washington. Melanie has resided in Spokane, Washington…since 2014 and has been included in shows and projects with Terrain—-Window dressings—-The Liberty Gallery—-The Saranac Art-projects—-Object space—- Kolva-Sullivan Gallery—- Artfest, Bazaar—-Art on the green—-Little Spokane river artist studio tour—-Art on the Blacktop—-The Spokane woman’s club—-Spokane art school—-The urban Art Co-op and The Ronald McDonald house among other local venues. Melanie is currently a member at The Saranac Art Projects and Pottery Place Plus both member owned artist cooperatives in downtown Spokane. Aside from showing conceptual artwork, Melanie also displays her artistic copper enamel jewelry in Galleries and shops throughout eastern Washington, Idaho and Montana. Melanie has recently had artist profiles written in the, Inlander, Spokesman Review, Spokane Coeur d’Alene living magazine and Spokane Faith and Values.
