Emerging Artist Program

In 2018 Pottery Place Plus commemorated our 40 th Anniversary by launching the
Young-Fell Emerging Artist Program, named in memory of two PPP members, Denny
Young and Chuck Fell, to honor their contributions to our cooperative and their lifelong
commitments to the arts.
Over the years Pottery Place Plus members have observed a growing need to foster the
next generation of artists. Emerging artists often struggle to have their artwork shown in
quality venues. A lack of funds and experience can make it difficult to effectively market
their art. The Young-Fell Emerging Artist Program allows PPP members to share their
wealth of arts marketing knowledge with up and coming artists in the Spokane area.
Program participation is offered to select area college students who are nearing
graduation and local artists in the early stages of their careers. For accepted artists, the
program provides a unique three-month opportunity to sell their artwork in the gallery,
with support during this time period designed to help solidly launch a professional
career. Participating artists will gain inventory preparation, art marketing, display,
customer interaction and sales experience from guidance provided by the expertise of
PPP members.
For more information about the Young-Fell Emerging Artist Program, review the
Program Guidelines. The first step to participate in this opportunity is completing the
Application Form. If you are an Emerging Artist in the Spokane area, we encourage you
to apply.
