Doug Edmonson
The design for Doug Edmonson’s Word Art is inspired from the
letters found in the natural world as well as in everyday objects. The found letters are used to create
custom signs with meaningful sayings or family names that relate to the client
on a personal level.Before
creating the personalized signs Doug Edmonson learns about the hobbies and
interests of the client so a truly unique, one of a kind timeless work of art
is designed.Word Art is
personalized and sentimental but it is also abstract therefore captivating a
viewer at multiple levels.All
photographs are original and from his personal collection taken from all around
the world.
Lydia Sproull
Visual stimulation of light, shadow, color, and form,
awaken my senses and my desire to create art in a direct response.
My working style is quite traditional, incorporating
classical and academic methods. While I use these methods most of the time, to achieve the desired
outcome of realistic images with a glowing depth, my paintings are more
contemporary in feel, because, they are more emotionally responsive to the
individuality of the subject, than most purely academic works of the past.
Portrait, figure, landscape, still life, and animal subjects
have all found their way into my art. Most often I paint in oil. While I employ some of the techniques of the old masters, I allow each
subject to speak to me, revealing how to best interpret it.My work is about truth, beauty and
significance.
